Take care of your daily business on Twitter without having to deal with the potentially distracting Timeline with the help of this little app
What started as a way for groups of people to keep in touch over the Internet, is nowadays one of the most popular social network services with well over 300 million daily active users.
Twitter has a lot going for it: it’s available to anyone with an Internet-connected device for free, it has a simple philosophy and it’s remarkably easy to use, it’s amazing at delivering breaking news, and it can be a fantastic marketing/sales channel if used right.
However, the more time you spend on Twitter, inevitably, the more flooded your Timeline will become, as you continue to follow your favorite personalities. At the end of the day, even though it’s definitely an important feature of Twitter, the Timeline can become extremely annoying for some.
Compose tweets from the taskbar without distractions
Thankfully, there’s a nifty little app out there that goes under the name of Twizzle that can help you solve this problem. In short, Twizzle is an open-source, multi-platform application that removes the Timeline from the equation, and allows you to simply tweet and DM other users from the taskbar.
Therefore, it’s the perfect tool for anyone who uses Twitter more conservatory and is not particularly interested in knowing what others are posting. Simply click the taskbar icon, and you can either compose tweets complete with images, GIFs, emojis, and polls, or you’re taken to the app’s main window where you can create new personal messages.
Feels right at home on Windows 10 in terms of looks
The app’s GUI is pretty reminiscent of Twitter’s web GUI. You are provided with a list of ongoing messages and, as mentioned before, with the ability to create new ones. The application also boasts 2 GUI themes (Light and Dark) making suitable for a wide range of work environments.
There’s also a minimalist Settings section that provides you with a few interesting options. You can opt to allow or block both external links and links to tweets. Furthermore, you can opt to hide the tweet composer in the taskbar.
Use Twitter without having to deal with the Timeline
All in all, Twizzle is an interesting little application that is sure to improve the Twitter experience for some select few users who don’t actually want to deal with the Timeline. You can have a more “intimate” experience on Twitter by simply chatting with your followers or friends while fully avoiding what might arguably be the most annoying part of the service.
We at AppsForMyPC have tested and used Twizzle and it worked pretty smoothly 🙂 🙂
