Give your desktop a fresh and exciting look with the help of this simple application that allows you to turn videos and GIFs into live Windows wallpapers
AutoWall is a simplistic Windows application that allows users to use any local GIF or video file as a live Windows wallpaper. The application is based on a popular open-source wallpaper engine called Webbp (and MPV) and it was created with the help of Autoit.
Working with AutoWall could not be easier since users only have to download the app’s archive, unzip it, run the application via its default executable file, and locate and load the file into the app.
Since the app does not support drag and drop, users have to use the Browser feature to locate the video or live wallpaper file in question. Once the file is loaded, users can simply press “Apply” to start the live wallpaper.
Users can rever all the changes and go back to their default, static wallpaper by simply clicking the “Reset” button. The application has one more feature, namely a feature that allows users to set their live wallpapers on Windows startup.
Please note that pressing the Reset button reverts all changes, and deletes all configuration files required, including the last option.
Boasting a very spartan GUI, and few features, AutoWall is by no means an impressive app. Nevertheless, it does work as intended, and it’s remarkably easy to use.
We at AppsForMyPC have tested and used AutoWall and it worked pretty smoothly 🙂 🙂
