Bring a bit of color and personality to your Chrome browser with the help of this extension that provides a customizable and nifty neon-lit bar
Do you happen to love the whole aesthetic of neon-lit vehicles found in NFS Underground 1 and 2, or the whole feel of neons in some cyberpunk universes, or the vibe of places such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Akihabara?
If the answer is “Yes,” then good news: you can now have a bit of that directly in your Chrome browser. Neonify is a simple Google Chrome extension that adds an aesthetically pleasing (in the eyes of some, at least) neon bar at the top of every webpage you visit.
Bring a bit of neon vibe to your browsing
Here’s what you need to know about the bar itself: it animates and appears in all sites that you visit, and the colors can be personalized according to your preference (yes, you can even add your favorite colors on top of the provided ones).
Furthermore, you are able to blacklist sites that you want to not have the aforementioned neon-lit bar.
That’s it, just a bar?
Yes, and no. Yes, it’s just a bar in case you only opt to install the extension. However, if you want a richer experience, then you can install the Neonify Theme, also available on the Chrome Web Store.
As expected, this theme changes the whole look of your Chrome browser by adding a darker look to the whole GUI. You also get neon-lit-like tabs, which go pretty well with the aforementioned simple bar.
Needless to say, this extension and its next-of-kin theme aren’t for everybody. However, if you’re a neon enthusiast and you like the overall aesthetic, and you also happen to have a hardcore RGB-enhanced workspace, then this extension paired with the theme can become a very cool thing worth considering.
We at AppsForMyPC have tested and used Neonify for Chrome and it worked pretty smoothly 🙂 🙂
