a Lightweight and Portable Application that Helps Users Animate Their Desktop Activity by Placing Several Ants on The Screen, with The Possibility of Changing Their Color and Adjusting the Speed
12-Ants is a lightweight desktop enhancement utility that places deskmates on your screen. This Windows utility displays several ants that live on your desktop.
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to animate your desktop activity.
12-Ants comes packed with several configuration settings which give users the possibility to pick the number of ants (from three up to fifty), adjust the speed, and select the transparency level. Plus, you can pause or stop the animation, and select the color of the ants.
Furthermore, the application features five movement types, as you can make the ants attack the mouse cursor, follow it when it moves, flee from the cursor, flee in the opposite direction when the mouse moves, as well as stroll around on the desktop.
During our testing we have noticed that 12-Ants offers good image quality and without errors throughout the entire process. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t burden the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
All things considered, 12-Ants offers a simple software solution when it comes to animating your desktop activity. Its sole purpose is to amuse and relax users by displaying several screenmates which move on your desktop at the selected speed. It can be easily installed and configured by all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
